The primary purpose of a pressure relief device is to protect a single vessel from overpressure. They do not protect against structural failure when the ship is exposed to extremely high temperatures, such as during a fire.
A pressure relief valve is a pressure relief device designed to open and relieve excess pressure and close again to prevent further fluid flow after normal conditions are restored. A pressure relief valve opens when the upstream pressure reaches the set pressure. It then allows the fluid to flow until the upstream pressure drops to the shut-off pressure (the shut-off pressure value is lower than the set pressure and will be reached after the blowing phase is completed). It then closes and prevents further flow.
Types of pressure relief valves include relief valve, relief valve, normal relief valve, balanced safety relief valve and pilot operated pressure relief valve.

The following activities are carried out in the VIRCO engineering group:

  • 2D and 3D designs with SOLIDWORKS and CATIA software
  • CFD simulation of flow and heat transfer using ANSYS FLUENT and ANSYS CFX
  • Analysis of fluid-structure interaction (FSI) using ANSYS software
  • CFD analysis of multiphase flow using ANSYS software
  • FEM analysis using ANSYS software
  • Preparation of technical documents and all specifications of our products
  • Providing the best safety valves acc. To the customer information sheet
  • Educating customers to choose the best safety valves for their applications based on
